Bat Mitzvah Dress Trends
If your daughter’s Bat Mitzvah is soon, this is an article not to miss! Besides learning her torah portion and preparing for the service, choosing the perfect dress is one of the most difficult tasks for a Bat Mitzvah Girl. All Bat Mitzvah girls want to look beautiful. For this reason we consulted with Amy Regal of Party Girls and Glamour Puss Beauty Bar and Boutique for tips on the hottest dress trends.
If you are looking for the perfect dress and have not been to Party Girls, you are missing out! Amy travels the country looking for the hottest dresses and has the most extensive collection of Bat Mitzvah dresses in Michigan. Amy and her staff at Party Girls have one goal … to help your daughter look and feel beautiful. If Party Girls doesn’t have what you are looking for, they will find it for you! As an extra bonus, if you purchase a dress at Party Girls, you will get a discount on their incredible make-up service.

Amy filled us in on the hottest dress trends for fall:
1.  Necklines: While many girls in the past have chosen strapless dresses, this fall, the trend is illusion dresses. Illusion dresses have the look of a strapless dress, however, there is sheer fabric at the top in a color that coordinates with your daughter’s dress. The best part of an illusion dress is that your daughter will not be pulling her dress up all night. If your daughter only wants strapless, consider having rhinestone or other thin straps added to keep the dress from falling. Halter dresses are also hot for fall.
 2.  Two Piece Dresses: Many parents think that two piece dresses are inappropriate for a 12 or 13 year old and Party Girl’s in house seamstress had a brilliant idea to sew them together so that your child does not have a bare midriff. This way, your daughter can choose from all of the trendy styles, without having to worry about anyone thinking that their dress choice was not age appropriate.
3.  Texture: In the past, most Bat Mitzvah dresses were chiffon or tulle. This season, many manufacturers are showing lots of textures including: satin, taffeta and silk. There are no rules when it comes to choosing a Bat Mitzvah dress, so try and think out of the box.

4.  Simpler Styles: Regardless of the trends, some girls will always choose a poufy tulle bottom. There is nothing wrong with poufy, but this season, there are many gorgeous dresses that are less full with less beading. Make sure that your daughter’s dress shows her personality. If she is an over the top glitzy girl, her dress should show it. If she is a little simpler, her dress should also reflect her style.
5.  Embellishments: If you find a dress you love that is lacking glitz or pizazz, don’t be afraid to add embellishments. Embellishments are a great way to customize a dress that it off the rack. Consider adding sparkly straps, a belt or additional beading. Make your daughter’s dress as unique as she is.

6.  Ball Gowns: Most Mitzvah Girls choose shorter styles, however, they should not rule out a ball gown. Ball gowns can be worn long, or for additional customization, consider buying a ball gown and cutting it short. This will ensure that your daughter’s dress is truly one of a kind.
7.  Corset Backs: Corset back dresses are a great option for underdeveloped girls. This way, dresses can be pulled tighter or looser to fit your daughter’s body style. In addition to being functional, corset backs also add beautiful detail.

8.  Booty Shorts: Your daughter is going to be dancing all night and up in the air during the hora. Regardless of the length of her dress, don’t forget the importance of booty shorts. You want your daughter to feel comfortable on her special day. Having a pair of shorts under her dress will make her that much less self-conscious.
While you are at Party Girls, don’t forget to look at their beautiful selection of dresses for your daughter to wear to her friends’ Bar and Bat Mitzvahs. Amy and her staff make it easy to find a variety of dresses that flatter every body type.
