In House Sound and Lighting

In House Sound and Lighting
Music and lighting are two components of your child’s Bar or Bat Mitzvah that set the tone for your celebration. Achieving the perfect sound and lighting can be difficult when equipment is brought in from outside vendors that have little time to set up and do proper sound and lighting checks. Having your event at a venue with in house lighting and sound ensures superior quality and is usually cost effective. We asked Jessie Miller of the Royal Oak Music Theatre about the benefit of having your event at a venue with in house sound and lighting.
The Royal Oak Music Theatre holds over 100 events per year, including concerts, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, weddings and more. They have an incredible team of sound and lighting technicians that have perfected the arts of sound and lighting. The excitement of a Bar or Bat Mitzvah at the Royal Oak Music Theatre begins when your guests arrive and see your child’s name on their iconic dancing lights marquee. While sampling passed hors d’oeuvres in the lobby, guests enjoy a pictorial slideshow in the six digital poster cases. The momentum builds as guests enter the main theatre and are greeted by spectacular lights accentuating the walls, a dome ceiling, and a grand stage. If you are having a montage or entrance video, the theater includes a 20’x40′ movie theater size screen. After dinner, the party takes off on the large dance floor. The Royal Oak Music Theatre’s lights are transitioned throughout the night to match the tempo of the entertainment, just like at a concert. Technicians expertly adjust the sound and lighting effects throughout the night, ensuring professional quality. Make your child feel like a star at the Royal Oak Music Theatre.
Jessie explained to us the benefit of having in house sound and lighting:
1.  Superior Quality: A facility with in house lighting and sound has perfected their sound and light quality, as they constantly check their systems. Look for a place with an in house production manager, sound and lighting technician. Sound bounces and having perfect quality is almost impossible unless you have tested your systems over and over again.
2.  Stationary Equipment: The difference between having sound and lighting equipment that stays in place and equipment that moves is the difference between Disney World and a local fair. When the equipment stays where it is, it increases the performance aspect. In house lighting can provide more variety and increased safety. While a local fair can be amazing, Disney World has been tried and tested and cannot be replicated.
3.  Price: Outside sound and lighting can be expensive. In addition to paying for the equipment, you often have to pay for labor, delivery and other costs. Having a facility with in house lighting and sound can save you money.
4.  Stress: Why worry about getting quotes and meeting with multiple lighting and sound professionals when you can simply show up at your venue and have everything there? Having a Bat Mitzvah, wedding, or other life event can be stressful. Having this included in your package creates less work and stress.
